Marshawn Lynch and Thomas Rawls News
Marshawn Lynch will reportedly undergo sports-hernia surgery on Wednesday and is expected to miss the next 4-5 weeks at minimum. It’s the same procedure Arian Foster underwent over the summer that forced him to miss eight weeks. Lynch and Foster are both older running backs that likely require more time to recover than their younger teammates. In a best-case scenario, it sounds like Lynch could be back by Week 16. We’d consider than extremely unlikely at this point.
It’ll be the Thomas Rawls show at running back for the foreseeable future in Seattle. Even before this news came out about Lynch needing surgery, Rawls was the No. 1 waiver add of the week. Lynch needing surgery and likely to miss the rest of the re-draft fantasy season has solidified Rawls as the top add. After piling up 254 total yards and two touchdowns against the 49ers last Sunday, Rawls has serious high-end RB1 upside and should see 20-plus touches weekly. Lynch owners can probably cut bait without any regrets. It’s very possible he’s started his final game for the Seahawks.
