A Few Early Schedule Observances

Chris JohnsonIn past years, I found it easier to know which players I wanted to target based on team schedules.  In reality, I would only do this for running backs as their production is a little more predictable when doing it this way. These days it’s more ever changing and hard to do this.  But here are a few tidbits I came away with after studying NFL schedules.

BALTIMORE RAVENS: They play a tough defensive team every other week.  You may want to drop Ray Rice a bit as consistency in fantasy production matters in wins and losses.  And I’ve already mentioned other things about Ray Rice including Vontae Leach loss (http://wp.me/p3GiFE-4A).  (In addition, I definitely think Spiller might need to be put in front of Ray Rice in the Top 10 rankings: http://wp.me/p3GiFE-37)

TENNESSEE TITANS:  Holy cow do they have a tough schedule early.  Key point to remember here is maybe it’s okay to trade for Chris Johnson mid-season if he is totally tanking early.  Here are most of the teams they play in their first half:  Steelers, Texans, Chargers, Jets, Seahawks and 49ers!  Wow!

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS: The colts schedule is also a bit rough early too.  Same division as the Titans, so it makes sense based on how the NFL creates their schedules.  After opening their season with a cupcake like the Raiders, they have the following:  Dolphions, 49ers, Seahawks, Chargers, Broncos and Texans.  Uh-oh!
